Thursday, November 2, 2006, Dharamsala. (Day 8 of the workshops)

A very nice day: I walk the short-cut route in 40 minutes, rather than the 45 minutes of the first days!

We begin the day with testing the self-made antennae over the basketball field. A simple cylindrical tin, yes we had to eat the chips that were inside the tin, an RF connector and a short wire together made a 13 dBi antenna!

After lunch we note that we have 5 continents together on a row. Bjarke from Europe (Denmark), Kanwal from Asia (India), Kafui from Africa (Ghana), Stan from New-Zealand, Vic from Europe (Netherlands), and Lilian from South-America (Colombia)

The afternoon is dedicated to a voice-over-IP installation. We could then call each other through the mesh network.

Unfortunately the software does not cooperate and the experiment fails.

The last part of the day is spent on fault isolation. A very important part of networking.
