Friday, November 3, 2006, Dharamsala. (Day 9 of the workshops)

Cloudy skies, no rain yet, so I walk up over the short-cut. According to a GPS system of Tim, the altitude difference is 100 m and the distance is 1.2 km as the crow flies. Again it takes me 40 minutes.

A very interesting lecture from Elektra about Lead-Acid batteries and how to handle them for a long life: do not unload them more than till the level of 70 %, never unload them till 0 %.

She also addresses the solar cells. Interesting to note that her house is not connected to the powernet, she completely lives on solar energy!

Time to show how we are spoiled each day with an Indian lunch! Shortly after taking this picture it starts raining.

Rain or no rain, the children continue to play outside on the basketball field. If you watch carefully, you will note a row of bicyclists. We have not seen what the eventual goal of the bikes were.

The afternoon is dedicated to the preparation and planning of setting out a network between TCV and McLeod Ganj. One team will come to TCV and the other will come to the bus stop square in McLeod Ganj.

I break out early to do some shopping. Tomorrow is the last day, it is better to have a good idea of what needs to be packed.
